Power of 10Sen is a campaign which empowers the children of Malaysia to help other children around the world. It was launched in 2008 in conjunction with Malaysia’s Global Peace Festival. The main purpose of this program is to develop a culture of giving and to instill the spirit of voluntarism among the children and youth volunteerism of the country.
First and foremost, Power of 10Sen is an education campaign. It aims to reach out to all the youths of the world and inform them of their ability to make a difference. Different from most humanitarian efforts, Power of 10Sen is not about the collection of millions of dollars, it is about empowering millions of children.
Power of 10sen is facilitated by the power of giving and united efforts. We conduct continuous donation drives in universities, secondary schools, primary schools, and even in kindergartens to promote the culture of service and living for the sake of others. Through our partnerships and alliances with prominent NGOs, corporate companies, and government organizations who also believe in the power of our children, we aim to inculcate a sense of collective responsibility among our supporters while effectively raising funds for the most vulnerable and needy of our human society.
The philosophy behind this campaign is that everyone can afford to give 10sen. When we ask a young person to donate 10sen, we are not asking for their money; we are asking for their heart. We believe that if we can inspire all the children of the nation to consciously participate in an act of giving once, every day, then we will ultimately foster a generation of ethical, responsible, and caring individuals.
